Trademark Law
A trademark is a distinctive sign used by a legal entity to identify and distinguish this entity’s products and services from the products and services of another entity.
The law recognizes trademarks in the form of names, letters, numbers, words, phrases, logos, symbols, designs, images, or a combination of the above. Even marks based on color, smell or sound can be trademarked under certain circumstances.
Unfair Competition
In the competition of companies for their market share, a slight head start can add up to a great advantage. In order to keep companies in their battle for customers within a fair framework, various rules and regulations have been established in the past 100 years. Their main goal is to maintain a healthy competition between competitors without favoring one of the other.
